Dear Friends, Now that our area’s market has been hotter than a dog-day of summer without electricity, just how hot is this market ? Crazy hot !

Westport sales volume jumped over 200% since 2019 with days on market is down almost 30%. Wilton sales volume is up almost 80% ! Crazy!

Now that our area’s market has been hotter than a dog-day of summer without electricity, just how hot is this market ? Crazy hot !

The median sale price is up significantly in every town, as Fairfield County’s market outpaces most of the country’s affluent communities, according to Joe Valvano, Coldwell Banker Connecticut/Westchester President.

Is this a bubble ?? While no one can ever predict the future, particularly in an election year, (which typically brings a less than robust fall market) we in Fairfield County — mid-pandemic — feel we are in a geographical sweet spot that could buck the trend.

NEW BUYER PRIORITIES, THANKS TO COVID-19

According to a recent Realtor.com-HarrisX survey:

A June poll of 2,000 potential home shoppers with plans to purchase in the next year, found 63% of those currently working from home stated their potential purchase was the result of their ability to work remotely, while nearly 40% [of] that number expected to purchase within 4-6 months. 13% said changes related to the pandemic fueled their interest in buying a home.
